Winter is coming… or is already here. It’s so hard to tell here in Perth. The weather changes from being bearable (like shorts + long sleeves bearable) to freezing – turn that heater on now! I am confused from piling up my jumpers, winter socks and taking extra long hot showers. Coming from the tropics, this is a shock to me and another thing I noticed my skin has gone out of sync! The hot showers, temperamental weather and the heater does not help your skin. After experimenting many products, I finally found a routine that is working for me.
01 Clinique Liquid Facial Soap Oil Skin Formula
This cleanser has been in my routine for a while. I am more than half way through it and I think I will be repurchasing it (if I don’t find any other cleanser to experiment). I love the refreshing minty feeling after cleansing my face. It feels like everything is washed off without stripping away all my skin’s moisture and keep the oil in control.
02 Pixi Glow Tonic
The holy grail of toners! I love it so much that I bought two extra bottles on the Sephora sale. With the combination of my cleanser and this exfoliating toner – it gets off every bit of dirt/oil off my face. I noticed a difference within a week of using it. My skin was suddenly brighter, my pimple scars were reducing and my skin felt smoother. I understand why people rave about this toner. The only thing I didn’t like about the toner was the little cap on top of the bottle to control how much product that comes out. I was really annoyed at how little product came out from that small hole. To fix this annoying problem – I took the cap off!
02.2 Clinique All About Eyes
I only this product at night before bed. All about eyes from Clinique is one of the most consistent eye cream I have been using. Thankfully, I don’t have dark eye circles or puffiness. However… I am starting to get fine lines and crow feet from squinting too much. I didn’t see any results for the 1st two months. At one point, I thought of trying something else but I got around looking for another eye cream. After that, I started noticing that my under eyes are much smoother and my line looks faint not as obvious as before! I am only half way through the pot.
02.3 Estee Lauder Advance Night Repair
Gosh, I effing love this product! I first started using it when I was 24 years old. My mum gave me her bottle and within 2 weeks of using it – I had a new complexion. My skin was hydrated, smooth, all my blemishes disappeared and it looked plump. After that bottle, I couldn’t afford to buy myself a new one. Until recently, my mum purchased a bunch of Estee Lauder products and they gave her a few deluxe sample bottles of the Advance Night Repair which she gladly passed to me (love my mum). I’ve been using this religiously and saving up to buy a bottle myself.
This amazing serum fixed my discolouration and pigmentation from spending too much time in the sun and it also acts as an anti-aging serum.
03 Embryolisse Lait-Creme Concentre
I was very wary of this product because of it’s thick, rich cream. To me anything that is thick and rich equals breakouts. With this moisturiser, it’s thick and rich but not heavy. It feels light on the skin yet super moisturising. Every time after my shower, I feel like my skin is all dried up and wrinkly after putting the moisturiser on, my face blooms. You only need to use the tiniest amount for maximum effect. It also claim to be a multipurpose cream – Moisturiser, Moisturising Mask and Makeup Primer
04 Young Living Frankincense Essential Oil
This is a step I just started after seeing a story on Instagram. I’ve yet to see results, but I am doing this because it feels so nice, therapeutic and I love the how Frankincense smells. It smells soo lovely! What Frankincense is known to help you with wrinkles, renewing cells and tone & tighten your skin. I mix 1-2 drops and sweet almond oil pat all over my face and neck
