It all started one night when Don wanted to go bed early and I was left with nothing to do. I had everything I needed for the next day prepped. I didn’t feel like watching Netflix or scrolling the Internet. I started playing around my phone and opened random folders of apps you don’t use or don’t know what’s for. I tapped on the Podcast app and since then my life has changed. There is an undiscovered world of podcasts I have not ventured into! I have been listening to them every day for the past few weeks. I don’t think I’ve ever mentioned this on blushingkay. I am a huge crime tv show fan. I love CSI, Bones, Law and Order, NCIS, Criminal Minds and Sherlock to name a few. If you haven’t listened to a podcast before or any of the podcasts I listed below, you need to get on it now!
Here are some of my crime podcast favorites
Serial was the first podcast I listened to and this was the one that got me hooked. I think it was the melodious voice of Sarah Koenig that kept me going! Serial is about Syed Adnan who was convicted of killing his girlfriend sweetheart, Hae Lee. I am still having Serial withdrawals and hoping they come back with season 2.
*EDIT: THEY CAME BACK WITH SEASON 2
Listen to Serial here
Right after Serial, I got on Criminal after reading so many good reviews. One thing I love and hate about Criminal is their episodes are short. I love it because I can listen to one episode in a single car ride but hate it because it’s short! Every episode stories different true crime story. It’s narrated by another soothing and melodious voice of Phoebe Judge. Her voice is so soft and soothing that it gets you soaked in.
03 True Murder: The Most Shocking Killers in True Crime History and the Authors
True Murder is series about Dan Zupansky who interviews authors on what inspired them to write about true crimes. Why were they interested in the cases, the background of the stories and etc. Although the quality isn’t as great as Serial and Criminal, but some of the episodes are really interesting!

04 Sword and Scale
Sword and Scale is slightly darker than the podcasts I mentioned above with unsolved murders, serial killers, and missing persons case. The episodes cover some detailed horrific incidents that add an intense vibe to it. I will admit, I was a little spooked after listening to some of the episodes. This podcast is definitely not for the faint-hearted.

I am still in the midst of being updated with Sword and Scale, but once I am done. I want to get on some girl power and light-hearted podcasts such as Lena Durham, #Girlboss and Make It Happen.
If you have any podcasts to recommend, do share them with me!
